Build/Release Engineer Sought - Master of your domain!

We are looking for a Build/Release Engineer to get very familiar with the low-level build tools in MS Dev Studio and integrating them with third-party compilers (specifically TI CodeComposer).  This person will keep the twice-daily automated builds running smoothly as well as the incremental build machine that constantly checks for bogus source code checkins.  Adjusting compiler flags, relocating chunks of code within a memory map, and working with home-grown SW tools to keep the developers humming along are all part of that process.   If that were not enough, this position will also administrate the Clear Case source-code control system.  This includes maintenance of all the source code branch labels and config specs, for example creating a new label / config spec for a new software release and ensuring that developers follow the right process to check their code into it, as well as building Service Releases by merging bug fixes on branches into prior releases. 

 

These are just some of the things to be done in this role, where there will not be time to be bored, and growing your skills is the name of the game! It is hoped that over time, this person may be able to move more into general firmware development so there is a good chance, yet more opportunity rests there!

 

Requirements are:

BS in CS, EE, Physics, Math or similar.

 

1 - 5 years experience in software development or build engineering. Not so concerned about years of experience as we are with attitude, aptitude and desire to fulfill ones potential!

 

Version control experience, preferably Clear Case and/or PVCS.

Microsoft Dev Studio or .NET familiarity.

Experienced in C or C#.

 

Some nice to haves are:

Perl / CGI scripts / web-automation

Embedded system development.

RTOS experience.

Network stack and protocol experience.
