Business Analyst II-Mortgage

Reviews, analyzes and evaluates business systems and user needs. Formulates systems to parallel overall business strategies. Writes detailed description of user needs, program functions and steps required to develop or modify computer programs. Manages the activities of third party vendors. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. May report directly to a supervisor or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Analyze and define efficient, cost effective solutions that support user business processes and functional requirements on projects
Manage pre-define project scope
Facilitate project working sessions with key stakeholders
Write clear and complete Detailed Business Requirement specifications, ensuring the design is of the most efficient streamlined flow without redundancies
Document flowcharting of proposed process
Develop User Test plans with the Business Unit, possess ability to determine when Business Unit?s requested test plan is inadequate or unnecessary and conduct User Acceptance Testing
Maintain project plan for requested automated solution
Manage projects for upgrades/enhancements as they relate to supported software
Make discovery of and inform management of potential risks identified on projects
Provide weekly status on project milestones, alerting business user/management of any potential delays
Resolve issues / bugs related to an application (new or current) involving, as required, team members from Development, Release Management, etc. and escalate as needed
Coordinate installation and first use of new automated solutions
Assist with the design and implementation of training programs for users of new and enhanced applications
Formulate systems to parallel overall business mission
Develop sound business relationships with customers, vendors, internal departments and all levels of management
Evaluate and recommend ideas to Project Management Office for departmental and divisional process improvement


Recent mortgage industry experience required. May require a bachelor?s degree in related area and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Ability to write business requirements, test plans and flow charts. Working knowledge of Project Management. Customer focused with high quality standards. Self-starter that possesses initiative, strong organization skills, analytical, problem solving, decision-making and leadership skills. Knowledgeable of Systems Development Life Cycle. Familiar with relational database concepts, .NET, Web, C# Visual Basic, Client-Server, Sybase and/or Oracle platforms. Niku and/or ClearCase knowledge a plus. Ability to research and perform detailed analysis of vendors. Ability to facilitate vendor selection based on business requirements. Experience in Third Party product implementation/development and contract negotiations a plus.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to CRT and UV rays. Working extended hours may be required as needed. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
