RESPONSIBILITIES

The BI Analyst will manage the quality of the data in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) and support the regional business units and functions to gain maximum leverage of the EDW and Business Intelligence solutions.  The role provides analysis and resolution of data quality issues identified in the EDW data as escalated by operational support or the Business Customer.  The BI Analyst captures local reporting requirements for the business or function, supporting the Data Consumers in reporting and analyzing the data from the EDW.  The role will undertake the capturing of definition of requirements through to the testing and implementation of new BI tools.  The role will be supported through a BI Network.  The BI Analyst will escalate any issues or queries to the BI Super User.

 

The BI Analyst is accountable for monitoring the quality of the data in the EDW for their domain and identifying and managing the BI requirements of the business or function.  This will encompass defining the BI requirements, validating those requirements, identifying potential solutions and the delivery of BI reports to the user.  They will undertake the capturing of the definition of requirements through to the testing and implementation of new BI tools.

?  Agree all the elements with the business and the consumer

?  Delivery of BI data

?  Retrieve data & build or amend BI data repository

?  Present information according to publishing requirements

?  Publish information according to publishing requirements and distribution list

?  Update reporting catalogue and metrics in data dictionary

?  Testing of BI solution

?  Perform UAT and sign-off

?  Identify where the request is not satisfied

?  Support of BI solution

?  Post go-live support and management

 

Possibility of some international travel (maximum 20%)

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

 

? Ability to be consistently accurate and organized

? Ability to prioritize work, to work under pressure and comply with strict deadlines

? Ability to communicate effectively with data change requestors and others

? Ability to understand end-to-end processes and how actions may impact them

? Working knowledge of BI tools, such as Business Objects, and ability to create reports using the BI tool

 

DESIRED SKILLS

Some knowledge of core systems including deal entry systems, scheduling systems, valuation systems and settlement systems; training on proprietary systems will be given as required.

? Financial Accounting experience, or

? Contracts Admin, or

? Credit management experience, or

? Database and SQL experience or

? Experience with SAP
