Business Intelligence Reporting Specialist - MS Reporting Services

Robert Half Technology's client is looking for a Business Intelligence / Reporting Specialist with MS Reporting Services experience.  The ideal candidate will have a strong background working with MS SQL Reporting Services and other Business Intelligence/Reporting tools such as Business Objects and Hyperion.  The ideal candidate will have experience pulling reports from Sage Accounting software.  Details are listed below:

Job Responsibilities

 

Estimated Percentage of Time Dedicated to Responsibilities

Responsible for Sage report design, prototyping, development, initiating UAT, implementing updates from UAT feedback and deployment of reports according to Enterprise Reporting team procedures and standards.

Actively research means to improve the reporting experience.

Assist end-users in the performance ad-hoc analysis in using appropriate analytical tools

Essential Qualifications & Experience

FLSA Status: Exempt

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience.

Experience: Typically has 5 - 6 years of IT and business work experience in the financial services, with insurance or reinsurance industry experience desired.  Experience should include working with team(s) in reporting initiatives.

Breadth:  Has a good knowledge of the principles, theories, practices and techniques for improving production reporting environments, report design, and software design/deployment processes and procedures.

Qualifications:  Solution-driven and goal-oriented professional.Good organizational, analytical and problem solving skills.Able to quickly adapt to new technologies and processes.  Articulate and able to effectively communicate with both technical and business associates.Flexible and efficient time management and ability to prioritize workload.Data analysis knowledge and abilities.

 

Experience:5-6 years experience in gathering business requirements, designing, developing and deploying reporting systems.

 

Technical Skills: Ability to analyze disparate sources of data and generate data processing specifications.Microsoft Office 2000-2003Microsoft Access and Excel 2000, 2003SQL Server 2000 Enterprise Manager and Query AnalyzerMicrosoft Reporting Services experience requiredWorking knowledge of Business Objects desiredWorking knowledge of Hyperion Reporting desired
