Presently we are seeking candidates for a Buyer to be responsible for the purchasing aspects of selected publishers, be responsible for inventory and certain non-inventory related activities, and to develop and implement positive process changes.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  1. Inventory Management:

?  Places orders in a timely and accurate manner

?  Maintains up to date expected deliveries

?  Actively manages purchase quantities and safety stocks consistent with ASAP and vendor goals

 

  2. Returns:

?  Maximizes stock balance and defective return opportunities effectively, thereby reducing our exposure to obsolete inventory

 

  3. Vendor Relations:

?  Works with vendors to insure ASAP goals are met and that we are improving our standing with key suppliers.

 

  4. IC Database:

?  Maintain IC database in a timely and accurate manner.

?  Insure that major product/program changes are proactively input into the HP.

?  Provides prompt turnaround on all pricing forms and requests.

 

  5. Warehouse Issues:

?  Works to quickly resolve and avoid mis-shipments, UPC discrepancies and   other problems.

?  Works positively with all members of the warehouse management team.

 

 

  6. Costing Accuracy:

?  Products are put in IC database and on order using consistently accurate costs in order to reduce AP problems, commission changes and other re-work.

 

  7. Vendor License Programs:

?  Administers vendor license programs effectively.

?  Supports sales and marketing efforts to increase ASAP?s overall success in these programs.

 

8.  Communications:

?  Communicates in a positive, responsive and supportive manner to management and co-workers

 

9.  Training:

?  As called upon, trains and develops employees throughout ASAP by actively participating in ASAP University as an Instructor, helping others to improve knowledge, skills, and/or performance in areas related to Purchasing.  Expectations of Instructors are established in ASAP University?s guidelines.

10.  PO processing

● Must adhere to all processes and requirements with regard to PO placement, validation, and verification.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

 

  Works in office environment with regular use of a CRT and Keyboard.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  1. Bachelors degree or equivalent courses.

  2. Minimum one year experience in purchasing in distribution or customer service environment.

  3. Basic knowledge of personal computers and PC software.
