C/UNix-Java Developer

We have a client located in the Tampa Bay area of Florida that has an immediate need for a couple of Sr. C/Unix developers to join their team on a contract to hire basis.

 

Required Skills:
Roughly 8 years IT experience
Strong C/UNIX development experience
Mid-level Java, J2EE development experience,
Unix,TCP/IP 
Strong communication skills and working in a team environment are
essential.
Experience and familiarity in the following is a plus:
High volume real-time transaction processing design
Relational database concepts and interfaces (Oracle is desired)
Messaging protocols such as SNA, TCP/IP, X.25
Inter-process message routing and queuing
Telecommunications design
Familiarity with client-server design models
Hardware experience with Intel-based processors
Understanding and knowledge of the Capability Maturity Model (CMM)
as utilized as part of Software Process Improvement
Understanding Software Configuration Management (SCM)
Experience with MKS suite of source code control tools

 

Responsibilities:

 
Assume senior role in the design, development, and support of server- based mission critical applications. responsible for programming and testing a variety of C/UNIX mid-range applications.
Serve as a backup to existing team member whose primary responsibility is the design, development, testing and implementation of several C/UNIX mid-range applications.
Responsibilities also include external customer interaction, initial project estimating, developing design documentation, application problem analysis, stress testing, and researching strategic technical business directions.
