Calc Engine Analyst

Description:
The Calc Engine Analyst is responsible for converting the client's business rules for benefit calculations into Calc Engine Code. This includes enhancements to the current system or a newly created and customized system. Responsibilities of the role are categorized in the following areas:
Analysis of Plan Requirements: The Calc Engine Analyst reads and references plan requirements and other plan materials to identify the administrative requirements of the client plan(s) that are calculation based. The Calc Engine Analyst is then responsible for ensuring defects and tasks are coded correctly based on the analysis provided by the CE System Analyst and the requirement documents.
Development of Calc Engine Specifications and Documentation: The Calc Engine Analyst works with the Calc Engine Systems Analyst in understanding and/or designing the Calc Engine programming architecture for the given project.
Coding of Calc Engine Provisions: The Calc Engine Analyst uses the Calc Engine specifications and documentation to write the benefit calculation code in the Calc Builder tool (the Calc Builder tool is uploaded to Linux/Mainframe where it becomes Calc Engine and then interacts with the TBA system). This could include code to provide information for GUI, IVR, TBA Storage, Internet, PCS or other uses.
Testing of Code: The Calc Engine Analyst is responsible for performing unit testing of his or her own coding logic. The Calc Engine Analyst should be a resource to the System Configuration Analysts (SCAs) for questions regarding the creation of ATTA for Calc Engine Test Plan Templates (TPTs). The Calc Engine Analyst is responsible for executing ATTA for Calc Engine and reviewing any discrepancies found on the Compare Report.
Ongoing Support: When supporting an ODG, the Calc Engine Analyst monitors the ongoing quality of Calc Engine processing, troubleshoots problems that arise, and identifies ways to improve the efficiency of processing and the system. He or she responds to defects or tasks from the ODG, and acts as an expert resource for the entire client team on the Calc Engine functionality, process flow, and calculation provisions.
