Chief Architect – Healthcare/OO Design/J2EE

Pay By Touch has been featured in the Wall Street Journal as one of the pioneers in the fast emerging Biometrics Technologies, where fingerprints may replace money, passwords and keys.

 

We have an immediate need for a stellar Chief Architect for healthcare with extensive OO design and development skills, ideally from a start-up environment, to design, build and roll-out Java and J2EE-based software products, as well as designing and developing re-usable components and frameworks that can be used across software products and become part of the our core foundation libraries.

You will be responsible for developing custom applications for healthcare clients that can be later productized and integrated with our core platforms.  You will represent Pay by Touch in front of clients and be responsible for delivery of client technical requirements managing both internal and external development resources.  You will also be responsible for fully understanding Pay By Touch?s existing and future technical architecture, infrastructure, and product roadmap and for contributing significant input into the process.  Additionally we will count on you to project high energy, to have a passion for state-of-the-art technology, to speak from a technical perspective at industry conferences and trade shows.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

 

Minimum 8 to 10 years experience architecting and developing large scale enterprise applications through complete lifecycle, and at least 5 years developing server-side web applications with expertise in the Java middleware space, ideally in a start-up environment. 

 

Knowledge of healthcare architecture in provider and payer environments is required. 

 

Experience with biometrics, retail POS, electronic payments, credit card, and/or risk management industries highly desirable.

 

Very strong OO architecture, development and analytical skills, with the ability to create design patterns, object models and to evaluate architectures.


Demonstrated experience with:

 

A popular J2EE Application Server variant,

Messaging systems (i.e. JMS, MQ Series),

Real-time data synchronization requirements.
EAI/Middleware integrating large systems.
eXtreme Programming methodologies

Delivering customized applications on time, on scope and on budget

Leading internal and/or external development teams

 

Excellent communication, team and project management skills.


M.S. or Ph.D. in CS or related field.
