Client Server Specialist

Perform regularly scheduled work associated with the operation of applications, servers, databases, and wide area networks and their related equipment. Duties include planning, installing and maintaining networks and servers (120 HP onsite, 160 HP/Dell/Gateway remote); install, maintain and upgrade applications (Windows 2003, must know scripting and patches); update and maintain operating systems; research new products; and resolve network problems. Maintain routers, firewalls, and switches. Cisco equipment; Ethernet 100/1000 TCP/IP; connectivity. Diagnose, report and repair failures to servers and applications. Capacity planning, performance monitoring. Maintain security of applications and networks. Should understand concepts of SAN/Storage; they use EMC and Clarion. Install, upgrade, and maintain SQL databases. NOS upgrade experience, LAN, WAN. Setup and install the nodes and network components on the network. Install and maintain applications. Use JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Oracle. Install and maintain antivirus software on servers and workstations. Norton, Innoculan. Maintain webservers hardware, software and security. Websphere portal to web access; IIS. Maintain application printing. Setup, maintain, and upgrade Citrix servers. Will also do some cabling/physical layer installation occasionally. They just put in a new utility billing system (multimedia). Maintain PC's and internal network. Some project management on projects. Want someone that has been in a complex, multi-platform, multi-server, diverse and distributed environment/experience. MCSE would be desired
