Cognos Developer

A leading Investment Bank is seeking a Cognos Developer to develop and enhance existing Cognos reports based on user requirements and design specifications.
The role requires the successful candidates to create, develop, schedule, maintain and run reports to meet the client requirements.

This person will work with business users and project teams to ensure understanding of requirements and write design specifications and create and maintain reports based on the understanding of user requirements.

Essential duties and responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, enhance reports using the ReportStudio.
- Participate in metadata model design to include multiple data sources, using Framework Manager
- Provide production support for Cognos and provide on-call coverage for issue resolution.
- Coordinate communications with Cognos concerning technical support, upgrades, patches and new products.
- Meet with business users and participate in functional design.
- Help translate requirements written into technical report designs.

Job Requirements:
This position requires expert knowledge in the use of the Cognos tool set including:
- ReportNet
- PowerPlay
- Framework Manager
- Access Manager
The ability to manage and perform Cognos system administration functions is desired, including establishing new database connections, user profile administration, movement of report objects from development through QA and into production, and related system administration functions. Knowledge and experience working with DB2, Oracle and SQL Server databases is desired. Strong SQL skills are required.
