Title: Software Engineer

Job Description:

ABZ is the developer of an award winning software package used by engineers throughout the world to analyze the flow of liquids and gases through piping systems. This software package is used by mechanical engineers in a broad spectrum of industries such as oil, chemical processing and power generation.

ABZ is looking for a lead program developer to improve and expand the current software package. Planned improvements include porting the existing software to a new development platform, expanding the features offered by the software, and improving the user interface. Duties would include working with ABZ?s engineering staff to develop design and functional specifications; implement the approved specifications; develop and implement a robust testing framework to ensure proper functioning of the software; and maintenance and support of the software package. Maintenance and support would include program modifications for upgrades, assistance in technical support and diagnosis and correction of software bugs.

This is not government contract programming work. ABZ expects to establish a long term relationship with the selected candidate to help grow the program's market share. The selected candidate will be rewarded accordingly. ABZ offers flexible working hours, health benefits, and a retirement plan.

Qualifications:

Knowledge of the Windows API. Experience in software development using C and C++.

Science or engineering background, and experience programming with mathematical formulas or algorithms, is a plus but not essential.

A degree in computer programming is desirable, but not required.
