Consulting Architect , Location Services

Openwave is looking for a Consulting Architect to work in the mobile data services field. You will assess client needs and prepare estimates, SOW's, architectural deliverables in early phases of project. Participate in project planning, business development, requirements gathering and documentation. Provide technical expertise in order to mentor junior and senior consultants. Participate in new Service Line rollouts and be a leader on implementation of new Openwave technology. Responsible for Site Assessment and Baseline Architectures for new deployments and upgrades.

Undergraduate degree, graduate degree helpful. 7 - 15 years experience including the following: Strong System Administration skills as well as excellent shell scripting skills. Strong understanding of Mobile Messaging Implementation. Strong understanding of Location based services, SS7 networks, E911 . Strong technical experience and knowledge of at least one major Systems Architectures and OS platform: (Unix) hardware platform (HP, SUN, IBM, DEC, SGI) and (HP-UX, Solaris, AIX, DEC-Unix, Irix), Backup and Recovery, High availability. Experience with Oracle RDBMS: both administrative and programming knowledge. Experience in Storage Solutions, Network Architectures. Proven experience in working with minimum supervision both independently and in team. Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills as well as good presentation capabilities. Good management skills in the following areas: Project Management and Conflict Management, problem solving skills and demonstrated ability to understand and articulate high level technical solutions to address business problems. Good strategic planning skills as they relate to developing and executing against long-term client management plans. Demonstrated dedication to training, guiding and mentoring team members. Being politically and commercially astute. Availability to travel and work at customer sites in the region.
