SUMMARY

1. Develop solutions to business or scientific problems.

2. Includes initial planning and developing of a new system

3. Includes creating ways to use the existing system more efficiently.

4. Includes analysis of new customer?s current data processing system

5. Assistance in new installations activities.

 

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

1. Assist in research and fact-finding to develop or modify information systems programs.

2. Prepare detailed specifications from which programs will be written.

3. Design and develop source code to perform the requirements of the application specifications.

4. Develop test data for the purpose of testing program runs & if meets application design specifications.

5. Document program designs, coding, and maintenance to allow for future changes.

6. Analyzes data processing system and data for new customers.

7. Identifies potential custom programming requirements.

8. Design and develop report writing tools to be used both internally and for customers.

 

COMMUNICATION AND INTERFACE

 

1. Strong oral and written communication skills

2. Ensure thorough and accurate communication with Company and customer personnel.

3. Provides information to Development staff. Develops reports, instructs and educates.

 

SUPERVISION

 

1. Reports to Lead Programmer Analyst.

2. Receives assignments as goals, usually with instructions that are open for interpretation.

3. Determines methods of accomplishing assignment goals.

4. Makes decisions within assigned areas of responsibility.

 

PROBLEM SOLVING AND JUDGMENT

 

1. Works on assignments that range from basic to fairly complex with several variables.

2. Makes decisions within established guidelines, procedures and practices.

3. Recommends changes as appropriate.

4. Anticipates typical problems & recommends proactive or corrective actions

5. Increases productivity & efficiency and/or decreases costs.

6. Ensures that modification and deviations from standard are properly approved before implementation.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent.

2. 2 years programming/analysis experience.

3. Good knowledge of programming concepts (i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc.) Good knowledge of programming in C/C++ programming language.

4. Good knowledge of how the pieces of a program fit together to meet the requirements of an application.

5. Good knowledge of how to document program design, coding, and maintenance.

6. Good understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction.

7. Knowledge of inter-relationship between software and hardware being.

8. Relate to internal/external clients to gather data initiate designs.

9. Basic application knowledge and analytical problem solving.

10.  Basic knowledge of creating technical specifications.

11.  Basic knowledge of report writing skills, such as Crystal Reports.

12.  Ability to be self-motivated and client focused.

13.  Travels 10-25% of the time to customer sites.

14.  Hears, speaks, walks.

15.  Sits for long periods of time.
