Core Senior Architect/Developer

RealEC is a business-to-business data interchange in the real estate industry that works with the nation?s top lenders.  RealEC connects mortgage companies and banks with service providers to facilitate an electronic network where orders can be placed and fulfilled through an autonomous and customizable infrastructure.

 

This job is to work as a senior developer on a team that is responsible for developing, upgrading and maintaining the suite of applications that make up the core infrastructure and routing engine.  The applications are comprised of in-house developed software using VB, ASP, VB .Net and VB C# with technologies based on XML, XPath, and XSLT.  These applications are based on a Windows 2000 and 2003 environment with Microsoft IIS, Microsoft SQL Server and Microsoft Message Queuing as the back-end.  Much of the customizability of the system is handled through SQL tables and stored procedures as well as XML and XSLT.

 

The core routing engine is responsible for processing over 30,000 orders a day. These orders consist of over 300,000 messages that are routed to customers and providers.  Also included in the processing of these messages are documents that are being received and delivered back to customers.  There are over 80,000 of these documents totaling 7 GB in size.  We are a 24 / 7 operations that strives for 99.99% uptime.  It is critical that the candidate understand the sense of importance that the routing engine serves and stride to keep it running as fast and smooth as possible.  The average processing time of each message needs to average around 2-3 seconds.

 

As a senior developer on this team, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring a quality and efficient architecture being implemented in a timely manner.  They will need to work with other team members to design and modify applications that will be used for the core routing engine.  It is important that the candidate maintain a can-do attitude and have the ability to think on their feet.  An ability to troubleshoot and dig into problems is necessary to be successful in the position.  Since we are a 24/7 operation, late nights will be necessary on occasions for software deployments or problem resolution.
