Data Designer

Data Designer Our newly-formed enterprise integration team requires a data designer with in-depth data expertise as part of the design and development of Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) solutions.  Working within the integration team, will work closely with the Data Architecture team to design, develop, and maintain canonical data model, which is at the core of the global integration platform.

 

 Essential Functions:
Conduct requirements analysis sessions with users to obtain data requirements. 
Identify and define common attributes shared across enterprise. Identify events and define canonical messages and formats. Generate XML schemas for the canonical messages in the shared domains. Design data delivery channels for the domains. Ensure domain meta-data is captured in MetaData Repository. Create design document detailing business rules, semantic model, source-to-target mapping for acquiring & distributing data and for development framework.
Data Governance: Assist in the identification of information ownership, authoritative sources, business rules and data usage policies. Assist in the development of processes, controls and metrics around information quality.
Assist in the development of test plans for end-to-end and integrated testing, participate in end-to-end testing, and support QA testing.
Support Technical Lead in technical design and development.
Participate in installation and post-installation review.
Manage resolution of production support issues, coordinating the interactions of the source applications, integration platform, and target applications.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or the equivalent is a plus.
Relational databases ?
Oracle experience required, Oracle DBA certification preferred
MS SQL Server and mySQL experience preferred
Requirements modeler; such as ER Studio (preferred), Erwin, System Architect, etc is a plus.
Experience with XML/XSL is a plus.
Experience with commercial integration platforms; such as, Tibco, webMethods, Oracle or BizTalk .
Advanced technical skills with data standards & architecture.
Understanding of integration and web-services architecture concepts, middleware and messaging, API's, Adapters, Common data models, relational data modeling & integration performance tuning.
Broad exposure and experience with diverse technologies and applications.  E-commerce application experience preferred.
Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently and consistently meet deadlines.
Working knowledge within software development lifecycles (SDLC).
Must be a strong team player with a commitment to excellence.
Strong influencing and negotiation skills, strong written and verbal communication skills.
Strong analytical, problem solving and documentation skills.
