Data Integration Engineer, Senior


Responsibilities: The Senior Data Integration Engineer will design, develop, test and support ETL applications using Informatica Power Center, Mercator 6.7/Ascential DataStage TX and Oracle 10G. Participates in application design and estimation activities as well as mentoring other staff engineers. The successful candidate will also develop bulk load, stored procedures and triggers using both DBMS native code and commercial ETL tools. This individual must adhere to product engineering methodology while working collaboratively with appropriate product teams and be able to document coding and design activities necessary for the proper installation, maintenance and operation of the software.

Requirements/Experience: Must have a minimum 5 years of software development experience in relational database environment as well as excellent software design and analytical skills. Experience with advanced software design methodologies: RUP, UML, OOA/D. Solid understanding of relational database design concepts, SQL, DBMS objects such as indices, stored procedures, triggers, etc. Knowledge of Oracle database technologies 8i/9i/10G required. Informix and SQLServer is a plus. Extensive working knowledge of Informatica Power Center and related products and/or Mercator 6.7/ Ascential DataStage TX as well as UNIX is required. Experience with advanced data sharing, data transformation and parsing techniques using XML/XSL is highly desirable. Experience with coding of the following application components is also appropriate: Java/J2EE, .NET (VisualBasic or C#), C, WebSphere Portal, Cognos and Microstrategy. Familiarity with data ETL concepts such as Metadata, Staging, ODS, scheduling, data marts, metadata, best practices, and software development lifecycles. Experience with the object oriented web development using J2EE and portal technologies. Excellent knowledge of web client-side technologies (HTML, JavaScript, XML, XSL, CSS). Data Architecture and Project Management experience is a plus. Healthcare experience is also desirable.

Education Required:

BS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience required.
