Project Description: Implement the transfer and integration of part of one existing Database from USGS servers to Wisconsin DNR servers including 1) redesign and revision of existing database schema to meet current Department standards for naming, location, and other database elements, and to improve and simplify the structure where possible, 2) continued improvements to the Oracle Designer data entry forms, 3) full integration of historic fisheries datasets with mechanisms in place for future large batch updates, and 4) continued design and development of a data entry, storage, analysis, and reporting module for creel survey information.
Deliverables: 1) A fully functioning and improved data entry, storage, and retrieval system for fisheries survey and assessment data, and stream habitat data that is fully integrated with existing Water Division databases and includes all existing data in electronic format, 2) The design and development of a component (schema, data entry forms, reports) for entering and analyzing creel survey information. 3) Resolution of all issues related to platform stability and security, read and write access permissions, cost for maintenance, network server loads, etc.
The scope of the project will be for part time work over the course of the three year project term. An initial PO will be issued for the period 10/1/06 - 6/30/07. Additional POs will be issued in the future fiscal years based on project needs and available funding. We expect the hired contractor to work on-site in the GEF II building
Hardware/Software Environment:
Oracle Database, Oracle Portal, Oracle Designer Forms (v6), Oracle Discoverer Viewer reports, Java, etc. An export of the current database schema (with selected data) and application exists on the WDNR test environment. The contractor will be required to assist in the export and loading of all existing data, export or redesign of additional Designer models from USGS and installation to the WDNR Designer repository, export and reload of existing Discoverer workbooks, database design and development of new components (schema, data entry forms, reports) for creel surveys, and building a replacement for the Oracle Portal front end to meet current WDNR standards. Working knowledge of current and future WDNR Hardware/Software development environments is essential.Kelly Services is an Equal Opportunity EmployerContact?Information?:.Kelly Services
