Database Specialist

We are looking for a senior database specialist with expertise in database architecture, tuning and maintenance to work on an enterprise web-based software system used by the processing/refining industry.

This application requires strong database support, and must be optimized for both SQL Server and Oracle databases.

"? Optimize existing databases and database configuration and/or direct programmers and analysts to make changes.
"? This position focuses on performance tuning, as well as generation of schema and data migration scripts.
"? The ideal candidate should also assume ownership of the J2EE persistence layer of our application, which is implemented in Hibernate.

Required Skills:
"? 5+ years of software development experience with a focus on databases.
"? Several years of experience each with SQL Server and Oracle.
"? Some Java/J2EE experience strongly preferred.
"? Experience with Hibernate or other ORM systems a big plus.
"? Some experience with scripting languages is helpful (esp. Ant)

Education:
BS in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience
