POSITION SUMMARY: The position of Development Manager, Adapters or Applications is responsible for managing the development and delivery of Adapter projects or Applications projects within the organization.  Manages the software development process of Adapters or Applications which integrate the Dexterra Mobility Platform with other Enterprise or Back-Office systems. Work closely with Product Marketing and Program Management to deliver on company goals.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

?  Manage an off-shore development of 10+ engineers

?  Establishes development objectives and estimates project timelines, assigns work and provides technical and managerial leadership.

?  Organize, align, coach, and motivate staff to achieve extraordinary results.

?  Work closely with Program Management, QA and Documentation to achieve project success.

?  Communicate assignments, priorities, and goals to staff.

?  Lead architectural discussions and design sessions and communicate that information to off-shore teams as necessary.

?  Recognize and clearly communicate goals, obstacles, and most probable solutions, within the team and to members of other departments when appropriate.

?  Work with Program Management to establish requirements for new projects

?  Review software specifications (requirements, architecture, functional and design) and actively participate in design meetings.

?  Apply troubleshooting expertise to track down problems to their most probable cause.

?  Escalate issues and/or obstacles appropriately.

?  Provide appropriate quality control mechanisms to assure delivery of quality product

?  Work with partners to provide appropriate technical expertise and advisement in the development of Adapters or Applications

 QUALIFICATIONS:

?  BS degree in: Computer Science or similar major.

?  7+ years of software development/management experience in a commercial software development environment.

?  3+ years of experience delivering quality software on time and within budget from a management role.

?  Experience with off-shore development a key requirement.

?  Experience integrating with SAP, Siebel, Clarify, Oracle, JD Edwards, or other Enterprise Systems highly desired

?  Experience managing and leading teams of software developers

?  Experience in the following: Visual Studio.NET, C#, VB.NET, XML, SOAP, Web Services, SQL, .NET Compact Framework, Windows Mobile.

?  Familiar with database design principles.

?  Familiar with Meta-Data design principles.

?  Familiar with application design metaphors.

?  Familiar with full software lifecycle methodology.

 

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:

?  Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

?  Demonstrated ability to quickly read and interpret technical information.

?  Demonstrated ability to compose clear and concise technical written communication.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, operate a personal computer, visually inspect forms, conduct oral communication via telephone and in person, retrieve and return files in storage cabinets, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
