Development & Testing Engineer

-Bachelor's degree supplemented by coursework in MIS, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other related technical field is required. Equivalent work experience may be substituted.

-A working knowledge of software procedures, applications, and products is required.
-Experience with CMM Level III, IEEE Standards and process improvement processes preferred.
Requirements & Testing experience:
-Professional experience in software requirements management and testing activities preferred.
-Knowledge of forms processing or data capture is helpful but not required.
-Demonstrated analytical problem solving skills is required.
-Experience with Caliber, PVCS Tracker or TeamTrack and Mercury Interactive tools (LoadRunner, TestDirector, and QuickTest Pro) a plus.
Software Development experience:
-Experience in VB 6.0 and/or VB.NET preferred.
-Experience with programmatic interaction with relational database systems, SQL and Stored Procedures.
-Experience in C++ or C# a plus.
-MS SQL Server database and Oracle 8i experience desired.
-Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, UML, and iterative development experience desired.

-Review all available project documentation to determine plan for requirements collection and management, and help create time estimates for project completion.
-Review all available project documentation to determine testability and help create time estimates for project completion.
-Identify, collect and analyze requirements and testing metrics.
-Work with management to define and supply required resources for the timely completion of the requirements/testing process within the project.
-Proficiently apply all company, divisional and departmental requirements/ testing policies, processes, procedures and standards. Recommend improvements.
-Create test plans and matrices based on documented software project requirements. Oversee and perform tests conducted to ensure compliance with test plan and requirements.
-Document and track defects and issues found during testing to ensure quality control and adherence to software project requirements.
-Assists with training efforts of new systems implementation, including documentation, instruction and hands-on-training of others.
-Prepare estimates for assigned tasks.
-Travel may be required.
-Performs other duties as required. May on occasion, perform higher classified work for the purpose of training and professional development.
Development duties & responsibilities include:
-Develop and maintain complex, mission-critical applications as defined by requirements.
-Develop design models based on requirements documents.
-Interpret customer requirements.
-Write and execute unit test cases.
-Support system and customer acceptance testing.
-NOTE: System testing of the code developed by this individual will be performed by another testing resource.
