HP is uniquely positioned to create a fully digital supply chain for the Media & Entertainment industry, launching new services for Hollywood Studios, Advertisers, and Emerging Video Distribution Channels.  HP’s Digital Entertainment Services Group (DES) is building a Digital Vault Services business to facilitate Content Owners’ transition from physical post-production and distribution processes to fully digital workflows.  The Vault Services team within DES is working with major Hollywood studios to hold, maintain, and distribute episodic TV and feature film content.  We are a fast moving entrepreneurial group with the flexibility to pursue new business and operating models with content/media providers and content distribution channels.

Job Description

The Digital Vault Services Architect will work with business development, R&D and product management teams to investigate and define product requirements.  They will also design and drive implementation of software features according to customer requirements.  This work will include evaluation and integration of proprietary enterprise systems, third-party software products and other technologies.  The Vault Services Architect will synthesize product architecture from interactions with customers & partners, their knowledge of relevant technologies, and pilot/prototyping activities.  Applicant must enjoy learning and solving hard problems.

 

The Vault Services Architect must be an enterprise software development expert.  They must be comfortable interacting on a technical level within HP and with external customers and partners.  They must be able to work creatively to support customer requirements quickly and efficiently.  They must have a working knowledge of enterprise application development and integration with a focus on web services and SOA.



Qualifications
Education:

? BS or MS in Computer Science or Information Technologies

 

Required Technical Skills:

? 7+ years of enterprise software architecture experience.

? Software Engineering - strong background and understanding of software engineering principles and applications

? Database architecture, design and development - expertise in defining and delivering database technology in support of defined business needs and objectives. Experience and background in database installation, configuration and ongoing administration activities.

? Systems Integration - experience and expertise in the processes, technologies and best practices for integrating complex business systems consisting of databases, applications, services, and underlying hardware and network and storage infrastructure.

? Applications Development - strong background and understanding of all aspects and phases of software development using life cycle management tools and processes. Particular focus on web based applications preferred.

? Proven ability in troubleshooting and problem solving.

? Ability to bridge the worlds of Business Requirements and Technology Solutions

? Must have experience developing solutions utilizing either the Microsoft .NET framework or J2EE platform.  Prefer experience working with both.

? Experience using UML to design and build object-oriented solutions

? Web Services Development experience.

? Business Process Integration – BizTalk, BPEL, etc.
