We are currently looking for a Director of Worldwide Marketing Communications for our Burlington, MA headquarters.
Reporting to the VP of Global Sales & Marketing, the Director, Marketing Communications is responsible for the development and execution of global marketing communications strategies, within approved budgets, which serve to generate leads, retain current clients, and enhance the positioning of the company within the global markets in which Charles River competes. This hands-on role requires a strategic approach and tactical execution ? in addition to leading a global team, you will be responsible for the bulk of product marketing communications and all associated writing.
Functions:Develop marketing communications strategies and programs on global and regional basis for prospects, clients, and partners across all market segmentsLead and supervise activities of global MarCom staff which includes: 1) Manager of Corporate Identity and Design, 2) Manager of Public Relations, 3) Manager of Marketing Communications EMEA (London), 4) Marketing Communications Specialist, and the marcom aspects of Sales Operations Coordinator Asia-Pac role (Melbourne)Oversee and contribute to the execution of all departmental activities including but not limited to advertising, directory listings, public relations, events, trade shows, email communication programs, collateral development, identity materials, the development and maintenance of four web sites (two corporate, one conference, one client portal), and all client, partner and prospect communicationsDevelop company and product messaging; ensure consistency across collateral materials; educate / inform sales teamsServe as primary product marketing expert; liaise with sales and product management to determine product collateral and communications needs, work with marcom team to execute, responsible for 90% of all product-related writingOversee development and execution of global public relations programs and contribute to writing including case studies, contributed articles, presentations, etc.Manage and enhance firm relationships with industry analystsDevelop and manage global and regionalManage 4-5 direct reports
Requirements:Demonstrated ability to write clear and compelling marketing materials, including brochures, white papers, press releases, and presentations. Ability to lead the design and implementation of high-impact collateral within Charles River style guidelinesDetailed and deadline oriented. Strong ability to multi-task and prioritize activities to deliver on commitments. Proven strong organizational, analytical, communication and presentation skills. Good problem solving stills, self-motivated, and driven to succeed. Desire to work in a fast-paced and highly dynamic environment.
Qualifications/Experience:7-10+ years experience in Marketing Communications in financial services or software industries3-5+ years experience managing staff and budgets5+ years managing the PR process, including drafting releases, securing executive approvals, pitching, media relations, etc. Solid Project / Program Management experienceDesktop and web site publishing skills a plus BA or BS degree requiredGraduate degree in Marketing Communications, Communications, Marketing or related discipline preferredLive within a commutable distance to Burlington, MA
