POSITION SUMMARY

 

The successful candidate will be a key member of the leadership team reporting directly to the President of WinZip.  The individual will be expected to be the key thought leader for the products and taking it to the next level.  If you are looking to be part of a company who has 40 million customers and looking for a great opportunity to run the Product Management organization, growing and building the development team this is the right opportunity for you. RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Drives product management processes that support the product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.

Develop product roadmap in support of company objectives.

Develop business plan(s) in support of new major project releases.

Conduct market, customer and competitive research, detail product requirements, define release scope, and establish release dates.

Manages the execution of marketing tactics across near and long-term horizons designed to capture a growing market share; increasing profitability of existing products and the analysis of market data/trends to ensure validity of product road map.

Drive the software development lifecycle and develop the product roadmap.

Build cross functional relationships with the marketing and sales to define product release requirements and marketing communications to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.

Contributes (and drives specific projects) to competitive analysis, product positioning and messaging, identifying industry trends an influencing relevant standards and industry bodies; integrates customers and market insights into product development and marketing plans.

  Accountable for product line revenues and marketing expenses.

Manages marketing budgets for product management, and ensures we spend to plan

Analyzes historical performance to enhance understanding of key business drivers and enhance forecasting.

 

Grows and develops product manager(s) on core product marketing, cross-functional product management, product positioning and messaging capabilities.

Serves as internal and external evangelist for our WinZip product offerings.

Represents the product line at industry events and to customers, analysts, press and partners.

Presents to and influences customers, partners and industry analysts.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

 

  Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. 

  Highly motivated and capable professional who has a proven track record in marketing planning, targeting consumers in small and medium sized businesses.

  Demonstrated experience in Product design/Product management.

  Strong research orientation, analysis and positioning skills.

  Strong experience in managing technical requirements and specifications.

  Ability to obtain executive buy-in on new business ideas.

Requires strong ability to translate business objectives into defined marketing strategies and tactics with the ability to implement them across a broad range of audiences.

Must be process-oriented and well organized, able to identify and implement productivity improvements.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills 

Strong thought leader.

Demonstrate passion for developing great people and ability to lead strong teams to

ambitious goals.

Work with internal and external customer to evangelize a product and drive consensus

around a product?s strategy.

 

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

 

 

5+ years in product management, preferably software-related

5+ years in marketing

5+ years developing and managing people

  2+ years working with senior levels of management

  Experience with B2C Channel Driven markets
