General Objectives of EDI Developer:
Maintains, enhances and supports all aspects of SAP EDI interfaces, data transformation, associated software linkages and input into SAP. General responsibilities include:
Design, development and maintenance of SAP EDI interfaces and data translations, including documentationIntegration of new trading partners (customers, vendors) EDI requirements into the TAMKO SAP environment, includingAnalysis of the trading partner?s EDI requirementsData mapping into and/or out of SAP to meet trading partner specificationsIntegration with EDI translation software, SAP XI and SAPTransaction testing with trading partner and sign off on functionality completeness and correctnessMaintenance and correction of errors as appropriatePrimary contact for trading partners to ensure electronic data interchange occurs smoothly and data is mapped into and out of SAP properly.Maintain a detailed understanding of EDI process and systems integration and EDI configuration, including output control, IDOC modifications and enhancementsSupport end user questions that are not answered by the help deskAssist with the resolution of functional SAP production problem requests Assess problem and its impactPrioritize problem resolutionCorrect the problemLiaise with SAP OSS and/or other third party support as appropriate to resolve problemDocument the correctionCommunicate the correction actions to the process owner(s) and end usersProvide training to process owner(s) and end users for any changes resulting from problem resolutionReport problem resolution status as necessaryUpdate design and testing documentation for any changes that occurFollow change control procedures for configuration modifications.Elevate critical issues to CoE manager

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
Four year college degree, preferably in Computer Science or related field. Minimum of 3 years of SAP EDI/ALE/IDOC experience. Minimum of 3 years of ABAP experience. Minimum of 5 years of EDI experience.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Specific requirements are as follows:
Minimum 3 years of ABAP experience
Minimum 3 years of SAP EDI/ALE/IDOC experience
Minimum 5 years of EDI experience
4 year college degree, preferable in Computer Science
Acts as the primary contact with external companies to ensure electronic data exchange occurs smoothly
Interact with the business users to analyze the requirements and technical designs of the RICEF (reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms) objects
Developer will work with Functional Consultants, Business Analysts and other support staff
Experience implementing EDI transactions on 2 or more SAP Implementation projects
Understanding of EDI X-12 data
Experience with EDI mapping would be a plus, but is not required
Ability to write technical mapping specifications
Ability to analyze business and functional requirements and develop comprehensive technical specifications
Experience with User Exits and/or BADIs
Understanding of EDI and IDOC configuration in SAP, which includes the following:
o IDoc Types and Extensions
o Logical Message Types, Process Codes, port definitions
o Partner Profiles
o MM and SD output control/output determination
o Port Definitions
Experience implementing, configuring and developing EDI transactions in 2 or more of the following modules:
