ETL Developer

* Maintain and support mission-critical data warehouse and business intelligence ETL processes as necessary
* Implement designs following Pearson coding standards, primarily to extract data from diverse data sources and populate data into the data warehouse environment
* Participate in requirements, design, and code reviews
* Write and execute unit tests understand how to effectively unit test
* Participate in group improvement activities and initiatives to improve quality
* Increasing responsibilities with the following: Develop business and requirements artifacts that effectively model the customer's requirements Develop design models from requirements models using UML
* Performs other duties as assigned

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, a technology discipline, or equivalent
* Three or more years of related experience preferred (specifically: 2+ years SQL development 2+ years ETL development)
* Experience preferred with ETL toolsets (e.g., Informatica)
* Experience in UML, Stored Procedures and Triggers, ETL, star schema data models, tuning databases, Business Intelligence tools, and iterative development beneficial
* General understanding of data warehousing, data modeling, and data principles
* Experience in process-oriented environment preferred
* Ability to think technically and analytically
* Ability to effectively and efficiently communicate in both written and verbal formats with internal and external contacts
* Must be a self-starter and work well with a team
