Electro Mechanical Technician

Job Summary:

Performs a variety of precision electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies and subassemblies. Assembles, disassembles, repairs, connects, and solders using blueprints, assembly instructions and where required, engineering specifications and sketches. Thorough knowledge of and demonstrated ability in the use of necessary hand and power tools, including but not limited to, wrenches, screwdrivers, power drills, soldering irons, heat guns, and standard test equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilites:

Under general supervision, with initiative and dedication, perform tasks such as but not limited to the following:
1. Hand or machine crimping of wire connectors
2. Assembly and dis-assembly with both hand and power tools
3. Read/Interpret blueprints and assembly procedures
4. Set-up and adjust any fixtures required
5. Demonstrated training or certification in the use of spot welding equipment
6. Distribute daily work assignments when required, and provide instruction to production personnel
7. Demonstrated knowledge/abilities in ESD compliance training (or certification)

1. High School or equivalent Trade School education.
2. Ten years experience in an Electro/mechanical assembly environment.

Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
1. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal and written instructions; and the ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations in order to perform the above described tasks.
2. Thorough understanding of quality control procedures, workmanship standards, and company policies/procedures, products, components, and the ability to read and comprehend drawings/specifications.
3. Must be able to use mechanical inspection tools such as verniers and micrometers.
4. Must be able to use electrical test equipment such as volt/ohm meters and oscilloscopes.
5. Ability to effectively use computers for maintenance of various records and status as well as for generating reports.
6. Must be results-oriented and self-motivated.
7. Demonstrated training or certification of soldering skills (documentation required).
8. Working knowledge/certification of IPC-A-610 standard.
