Embedded Linux Developer

IdleAire Technology Corporation is looking for an Embedded Linux Developer.  You will be using C/C++ and Linux shell scripting to develop and maintain the embedded platform that provides specialized services to our customers.  This integral role provides the tools needed by the team to deploy a world class software system, and as such is well supported by QA and peer developers.

 Significant amount of architectural and system design work.Development and maintenance of boot, update, and support mechanisms for an embedded Linux distribution.Driver development for custom devices, working closely with hardware engineers.Development and maintenance of manufacturing tests for embedded devices.

 

Mandatory Skills:Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience with C, C++, and Bourne shell scripting in a Unix/Linux environment.Strong fundamentals of computer science, including knowledge of advanced data structures, algorithms, event-driven and threaded designs.Familiar with TCP/IP networking using the BSD socket interface.Familiar with the layout and structure of the device driver interfaces of the 2.6.x Linux kernel.Excellent written and verbal communications skills.Strong motivation to seek and conquer new technical challenges.

 

Desired skills:Experience with the GTK+ toolkit.Experience in crafting GNU make files.Experience writing Gentoo ebuild scripts.

 

Education/Experience:Bachelor's DegreeExperience in designing for and deploying large scale networks of embedded devices
