Embedded Software Engineers
Union Switch and Signal in Pittsburgh, PA is currently recruiting for Embedded Software Engineers of all experience levels
The job will consist of the specification, design, development, verification and validation of embedded software. The duties will consist of developing hardware/software requirements; using current software engineering tools to design the software based on the requirements; implementing the software to meet the design requirements; testing the hardware/software based on the requirements; performing code inspections; reviews; unit testing and V&V activities and providing technical support for the software; and documenting each phase of the software lifecycle
Required:
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Experience in embedded real-time programming
- Solid experience with C++
- Experience developing products in a software lifecycle process
- Strong experience managing requirements
- Experience producing documentation
- Experience with change control
- Software Verification & Validation experience essential
- Experience using in-circuit emulators, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, and background debug monitors
Desired:
- Motorola 68k microcontrollers/microprocessors (strongly desired)
- Vital/fail-safe software development process experience (IEEE, Military etc.) (strongly desired)
- VHDL and FPGA programming (a big plus)
- C

- Assembly
