Engineer, Quality (Software)

The candidate will monitor and measure the developing software test plans, procedures and validation reports that satisfy internal and customer requirements.  Participate in the implementation of the ISO 9001:2000/AS9100B Quality Assurance System, and subsequent audits.  Meet quality requirements as specified in existing contracts and/or customer imposed quality requirements.  Drive S/W quality improvement as measured by errors in first phase through release.  Identify, document and follow through to resolution any software defects identified during all testing phases.  Initiate failure analysis, corrective actions, and follow-up.  Review RFQ?s for S/W quality requirements as delegated and makes recommendations to Management.  Review delegated contractual documents and assist in generation of S/W Quality Assurance Program Plans, identify any special quality needs for inspection or test, quality assurance instructions, or inspection procedures.  Collect, analyze, and present data in various formats to Management and customers.  Verify product user manuals and on-line documentation.

 

Required: BA degree in Comupter Science or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, and 2 years prior experience in a software quality/test environment.  Must have an in-depth knowledge of quality principles (ISO 9001:2000, AS9100), prevention, detection, appraisal, failure concepts and ability to estabilsh and deploy statistical concepts.  Must have prior experience in military and commercial S/W configuration concepts.  Must be proficient in PC programs such as MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).  Must have good interpersonal skills along with good listening, observation, and comprehension skills and be able to articukate judgments made in verbal and written form in a professional manner.  ASQ certifcation as a Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) is desired.  This position requires the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
