Engineer - Software Testing

Develops detailed software test plans to determine performance and safety of software.  Uses engineering processes and practices to plan, test and evaluate test results and writes detailed reports documenting th test results.  Prepares project test lans and cost estimates for software testing efforts for the accomplishment of the project testing in the most efficient and economincal manner.  Consults with instrumentation specialists, design personnel, safety, maintenance and support personnel and mathematicians to develop details of the test plan.  Witnesses contractor testing and oversees/conducts the developmental software test process.

 

Bachelor's degree in Compuster Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.  Placement will depend upon experience, but requires experience or internship in designing, developing or conducting engineering test projects.  Experience testing software performance and safety critical functions and an understanding of embedded software in military systems highly desired.  Familiarity with Army test and evaluation programs involving integrated weapons systems, automotive system,s precision instrumentation preferred.  Familiarity with standards of military testing preferred.  Must be able to obtain and retain a security clearance.
