Engineering Program Manager

Wind River is looking for a Program Manager to play a leadership role in developing and delivering our VxWorks Platform products.

VxWorks is the industry leading real-time operating system. It serves as a solid foundation for the development of a variety of devices, from aerospace and defense applications to networking and consumer electronics gear, robotics and industrial applications, precision medical instruments, and navigation and telematics systems in automobiles. The platform has been successfully deployed in millions of devices, including NASA's Mars Rover, by leading companies worldwide.

The Program Manager is responsible for:
- Project technical expertise and resource management.
- Coordination of project specifics, deliverables, and estimate scope, duration, in conjunction with the development and product management staff
- Defining standards and procedures for project deliverable documentation, design reviews, testing, and document control
- Working with peer project managers to assure optimum resource management
- Mentoring junior project managers
- Reporting on project status
- Ensuring customer satisfaction


Requirements:

- 10 years engineering experience with system software development
- 3 years project management experience
- Strong mentoring, supervisory and team building skills
- Engineering management skills as demonstrated by experience successfully planning and managing multiple engineering projects; building and leading teams of 10 or more engineers; and directing the design and troubleshooting of complex software and hardware.
- Experience leading projects from multiple distributed groups
- Demonstrated strength in: planning and organization; verbal and written communications; effectiveness as a team member and leader; drive and perseverance in accomplishing goals; professional integrity; adaptability to new projects; resourcefulness; energy and motivation to initiate and complete tasks; and enthusiasm building expertise in the technology
-Some travel required
-Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- PMP Certification highly desired
