English / Japanese Localization Engineer - Help Files

OVERVIEW:

For this position you will be assisting with localization efforts in support of the publication and distribution of web-based help files used by numerous IT professionals, worldwide!

 

Your responsibilities will include:
Driving the localization process for the content from English into another language
Ensuring that localization tools are functioning correctly and usable for localization
Working closely with test teams to assess localizability and uncover localization bugs
Supervising the bug fix process
Facilitating communication of localization and tools strategy with related localization teams
Assisting with the testing and bug resolution of localized content
Participating in meetings and conference calls, including some with overseas teams (East Asia) which may fall outside of normal hours

 

REQUIREMENTS:
3+ years related work experience
Extensive localization experience
Fluency in English and Japanese, including a familiarity with technical terms
Ability to simultaneously handle task assignments from more than one project
Ability to communicate effectively with both team members and subcontractors
Excellent problem solving, organizational, and time management skills
Keen attention to detail
BS in CS in related field preferred
Willingness to work a flexible schedule (i.e. for coordinating with East Asian teams)
Knowledge of / experience with DocStudio, SourceDepot, Rainbow, or Trados is a plus
