This role is tailor made for a motivated software engineer to establish their coding credentials and move up the ladder in our highly entrepreneurial environment. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow will be an opportunity to own the complete project management of the Accolo production release, and manage internal and external developers.

As our Larkspur, California-based junior to mid-level Java Engineer, your first mission will be coming to grips with the Accolo software architecture. Your assignments will grow in complexity as you gain comfort with our established engineering philosophy, and evolve from fixing minor bugs to coding minor enhancements to designing major enhancements and new features. The developer who relishes many of the Extreme Programming tenets, including peer and code reviews, constant building, constant compiled checks, constant QA and strict conformity to XHTML and Web standards will be on the fast track to contribute. Obviously, Java development experience will be paramount while an aptitude for using, or quickly learning, the following programming skills will add tremendously to your value. Foremost may be AJAX, which we are increasingly using to provide desktop like functionality in our web application for features like drag and drop and fast updating of pages. Next may be XML, XSLT and Web Services, which allows us to write connection enhancements and incorporate application sharing functionality for our partners and clients such as Monster. Mapping database objects to Java objects is another skill that you will exploit and, in the short term, so will PL/SQL and stored procedures with Oracle. This is a singular opportunity to join an organization that places exceptional value on individual merit. Grow your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
