Fortune 100 and startup companies alike rely on Crossbow as their supplier-of-choice for wireless sensor network technology. As a Field Application Engineer you will be instrumental in getting our hardware and software designed into wireless sensor network OEM applications. Your role includes sales engagements with Fortune 100 companies and requires technical pre-sales and post-sales support in close cooperation with our account managers. Your location will be at your headquarters in San Jose, CA

REQUIREMENTS: Must have 4+ years experience as a Technical Sales Engineer/Field Application Engineer (FAE) with a proven track record of success. BSEE or BSCE / Master's preferred. Must have in-depth hands-on experience in at least two of the following areas: sensors, embedded systems, and wireless communications. Must possess excellent analytical and system troubleshooting skills. Must have ability to learn a variety of software programs including PC-based software and embedded applications. Experience in any of the following would be considered a plus; C++, C#, nesC, TinyOS, Zigbee, Matlab or LabVIEW. Must have strong skills for presenting technical materials to both technical and business level audiences at Fortune 100 companies. Must possess strong verbal, written and interpersonal skills. Ability to travel frequently/as needed.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES: Pro-actively drives Design Wins Removes technical objections in the selling process. Acts as a complete technical liaison for prospect technical personnel during the sales cycle and helps secure new business. Supports customers during evaluation, install and during project start. Researches and follows up on technical issues related to sales opportunities; inform, mentor and train technical colleagues, customers, and partners. Provides technical training to customers, resellers and distributors as well as internal sales personnel. Authors application notes and articles. Supports evaluation and reference platforms for our embedded sensor systems. Conducts on-site investigation/resolution of problems when appropriate. Performs other related duties as assigned.
