Responsibilities

? Create and manage rigorous and complex financial models to value mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and business development opportunities

? Conduct research on potential acquisition targets and the natural gas market / industry.  Identify potential acquisition targets and investment opportunities

? Participates as a key member of acquisition team.  Assist with deal structuring, due diligence, execution and post-close integration

? Identify transaction valuation and risk drivers.  Develop recommendations to increase value and mitigate risk.  Stress test assumptions and deal structure cases.

? Coordinate with group?s cross functional departments( treasury, regulatory, accounting, tax, legal and operations) to develop and verify modeling assumptions e.g. transaction synergies

? Develop metrics and models that allow for M&A targets to be compared and ranked for optimal targeting of investment opportunities

? Prepare presentations and present to executive management and board of directors

 

Required Skills

? Bachelors degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting with a strong academic record (MBA and/or CFA preferred)

? 3 - 5 years performing financial modeling and valuation in a corporate development, corporate finance, treasury or investment banking role (Energy, Natural Gas, Natural Resources experience is preferred)

? Demonstrated deep understanding and practical application of transaction related company and asset financial valuation, financial analysis, acquisition analysis and GAAP accounting (understanding of option pricing theory is a plus)

? Demonstrated ability to construct complex financial models including full pro-forma financial statements with minimal to no oversight

? Demonstrated deep understanding and practical application of multiple financial valuation tools e.g.  discounted cash flow, relative value / multiples (trading and transaction), net asset value, sum-of-parts

? Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to work under tight deadlines in a dynamic environment with minimal oversight

? Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
