Financial Software Engineer - Hedge Fund

HBK Investments, L.P. is a global, multi-strategy, market-neutral hedge fund currently managing approximately $10 billion in assets. The firm was founded in 1991 and employs over 275 individuals in Dallas, New York, London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. HBK is looking for extraordinary software developers to join our team in Dallas. Successful candidates have a demonstrated track record of educational, professional, and personal achievement. He or she has an undergraduate or graduate Computer Science degree from a top-tier university and a deep understanding of the subject. Financial experience is not a prerequisite, but an interest in the application of technology to investment management is a must. Candidates should also have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of the difference between working smart and working hard.


Our developers are organized into small teams with independent prioritization and release schedules. Groups have the autonomy of small teams but the support structure of a larger development organization including automated nightly builds, a dedicated QA team, automated regression testing, etc. A very flat organizational structure allows for the opportunity to migrate across teams and broaden your business knowledge and experience. We build software on the Windows platform using Visual Studio and VSS, with a C++/MFC legacy base and we are migrating towards C# and the .Net CLR.

Senior C++ Guru
Experience working with very large scale C++ deployments [1,000,000+ lines of code] Lakos/Meyers/GoF Soft real-time, multi-threaded Integrating C++/MFC legacy code with .Net/C# Distributed computation/grid computing

 

Business Unit DeveloperUse rapid development techniques to solve business problems Fast-paced, rewarding environment where technology makes an immediate impact C# GUI's, Excel plug-ins, some MFC legacy code Work directly with trading desks, operations, accounting, and other teams Knowledge of UML, Design Patterns

 

Data Management Developer Experience working with very large databases [multi-terabyte] Data modeling, query design and optimization, stored procedures DTS/T-SQL/Microsoft Reporting Services/Microsoft Analytic Server

 

C++/C#/.NET DeveloperCandidate should possess working knowledge of application development on the Windows Platform Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio 3 years of experience in C++ 1-2 years of experience with C# and .Net Knowledge of UML, Design Patterns and ASP .Net is a plus

 

ASP.Net Web DeveloperCandidate should possess working knowledge of application development on the Windows PlatformExperience with Microsoft Visual Studio 2003 and 20052-3 years of experience with C#, ASP.NetASP.Net 2.0 Experience a plus
