Flash Developer

Our broadcast networks incorporate a tremendous amount of real-time interactivity which provides viewers with the opportunity to interact with the event, with each other, and with advertisers and sponsors.
We are currently looking for experienced Flash Developers to join our existing highly skilled and experienced team. Note, this is not your everyday Flash position - You will need to have experience in using Flash to create real Rich Web Applications not just graphical presentations.
?Sounds Great! So?what would I be doing??
You will play a key role in the development and delivery of a brand new cutting edge Interactive entertainment platform which includes features such as a Flash Component-based Self-Configuring Interactive Video Player, Targeted Advertising Platform, Broadcast Management System, and more.
You will design, or participate in the design, of high-quality, object-oriented, digital media asset management applications that run the broadcasting portals for major brands.
You will create high quality, error free, well documented, interactive Flash applications using Actionscript 2.0.
You will work with third party System Integrators and VARs to help them create solutions using our development framework for the next evolution of entertainment delivery.
You use your skills to implement complex integrations with 3rd party systems such as Scoring systems, Geo-Positioning, Searching, Ticketing, Content Distribution Networks, Digital Asset Management systems, eCommerce systems, and more.
You must stay abreast of developments in the Flash programming world and suggest, and incorporate, new technologies as appropriate.
You will create Flash based User Interfaces (UIs) for web-based as well as client-based applications.

You will have at least 3 years experience in designing and maintaining web-based Flash Applications using Macromedia Flash (MX, MX 2004 & 8.0) with heavy use of Actionscript 2.0. (Certified developers preferred.)
You will have a background in designing and developing Object Oriented programs in Actionscript 2.0 or other Object Oriented languages.
You will probably have some experience with Macromedia Flash Communication Server and Flash Remoting.
You will be able to put your experience with JavaScript, HTML, and CSS (4+ years) to good use.
It will be very important for you to have a detailed understanding of XML, and related technologies (XPATH, DTD, etc), and communication between Actionscript 2.0 and Web Services.

You will be expected to OWN development efforts and problems as a wide degree of creativity and latitude is afforded in this role, and show a sense of enthusiasm and innovation in deriving solutions.

You need the ability to adapt to a fast changing environment and multitasking assignments.
You must be able to juggle tasks and prioritize work effectively and efficiently.
Of course you must be a team player but also a self-starter and capable of effectively working on your own.
?What application or technology skills should I have??
Candidates MUST have DEMONSTRABLE experience with the following technologies, and have used these technologies recently:
Flash MX 2004 or Flash 8, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
Candidates that have skill with the following additional technologies will be preferred:
Flash Remoting, Flash video encoding, XSL, IIS, SSL, Web Services (WSDL/SOAP), FTP, SMTP, Photoshop, Illustrator, Freehand, Windows Media Encoding.
Other desirable skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, FrontPage, Visio, Macromedia Fireworks.
?Will I get a chance to interact with anyone??
Yes, this job involves daily interaction with a supervisor and with other individuals providing information and updates. Regular interaction with customers and/or outside contractors will also be necessary. Certain projects may require extensive interactions with outside customers or contractors. Travel opportunities may be offered, however, no travel is required.
