GIS Analyst

TriTech Software Systems, a leading provider of Computer Aided Dispatch Software (CAD) and Mobile software for Public Safety Agencies around the world, is continuing to expand our team. We are currently seeking a GIS Analyst.

POSITION SUMMARY

Under minimal supervision, the GIS Analyst is responsible for the successful creation and testing of the base maps and related mapping products that form the foundation of TriTech?s computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems. Job Scope includes all activities relating to the conversion and testing of base maps and updates, as well as analysis, creation and testing of routing files.

 TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIESCompletes conversions of commercial and client-supplied mapping data to VisiCad formats using proprietary tools developed and maintained by TriTech EngineeringTests and analyzes completed maps to determine accuracy based on client-supplied test dataMeets with clients to analyze geography and determine requirements for grid/centroid sizing so as to optimize accuracy of recommendations, size of database and resulting speed of lookupsGenerates, tests and installs centroid filesTroubleshoots client map data issuesTrains clients in use of map conversion, transactional update and centroid generation tools as required when such tools are sold for client useMaintains accurate work-plan as part of Project Services master scheduleFunctions as an advocate for both TriTech and clientsFosters solid client relationshipsOther assignments as may be provided

 

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLSMinimum one-year mapping systems work experience utilizing ESRI and/or other third party map generation products along with proficiency using project management and word processing software (Microsoft tools preferred)Effective written and verbal business communications skills necessaryAbility to effectively manager multiple projects simultaneouslyAbility and willingness to travel occasionally

 EDUCATION

Bachelor?s degree (BA/BS) in Geographic Information Systems or Computer Science
