Developer Community Specialist, Technical Operations - Mountain View

This position is based in Mountain View.

Do you have a passion for technology and love working with other developers?

Google has an immediate need for driven, tech-savvy team players to be part of building a new developer community around our APIs and Developer products. We believe that a developer community with active participation by Google is the best way to support our Developer products. You will be actively involved with the team, defining requirements and vision, building out an online help center for the community, and working closely with support, product management, and engineering to implement this vision.

Ideal candidates have strong technical backgrounds with web-based technology, and are experienced, active participants in developer communities.

Responsibilities:Gather requirements, perform competitive analysis, and define a vision for a Google developer community enabling user-to-user support and more rapid adoption of Google APIs.
Work with Operations, Support, Product Management, and Engineering teams to implement this user-to-user developer community.
Perform ongoing competitive analysis on developer community programs and initiatives.
Collect and analyze data on enhancement requests and bug reports related to our APIs; prioritize and communicate highest priority issues to product management.
Work with product marketing, vangelists, and Open Source program office to coordinate Google?s participation in developer conferences and events.
Be cross-functional champion for user experience and support needs of developer community.
Coordinate Google?s creation and release of developer-focused content and related offerings.
Define community application infrastructure required to enable the online community, improve developer experience, and shorten their developer time. Follow through with appropriate teams to bring these applications to reality.
Monitor external websites, communications, blogs, etc? about Google?s developer programs and support offerings in order to ensure high levels of user satisfaction.
Requirements:BA/BS in computer science or equivalent experience.
Passion for technology and Google products.
Self-directed, motivated, and a driven performer with strong organizational skills.
Ability to communicate technical issues/concepts clearly and effectively.
Ability to effectively participate in and coordinate cross-functional working teams.
Candidate should have 5+ years experience in web application or software development, technical support, engineering management, participation in Open Source projects, or developer programs.
Ideal candidate should have exciting ideas about establishing and expanding developer communities.
