Graphics Designer

BuildLinks is a rapidly growing company in Morrisville, NC. We host a web based application geared directly towards builders to streamline the home building process. Because of the growth, we are seeking a creative, talented, work oriented individual who can create graphics for our marketing team, assist in graphics and layouts for our application, and occasionally develop and design custom web sites for our customers. The right person can work with minimal supervision and in some case with little or no creative direction, translate graphic requests into soft copy and work under deadlines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Deals with preparation of illustrative materials from artists and vendors.
? Works with marketing and development staff on style and approach for all projects.
? Provides design elements, comps, templates, and finished solutions.
? Participates in efforts to improve quality of Web sites and other publications as required.
? Ensures that all design elements, templates and finished solutions work within a variety of browser types and screen settings along with the constraints set by development and design.
? Responsible for design maintenance of all Web sites, other publications and applications.

REQUIREMENTS
? Knowledge of software including: Photoshop (or Dreamweaver), Illustrator, and Macromedia Flash
? Experience with Mac and Windows operating systems
? Knowledge of HTML and JavaScript based Web technologies and applications
? Ability to coordinate with internal and external groups
? Written communication skills
? Two to four years experience in Web-based graphic design or web interface design, B.A. or B.S. in graphic design, art or related field or equivalent academic and work experience
? Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
? Must have strong communication skills and be able to communicate technical information to non-technical users.

PREFERED SKILLS
? Knowledge of other web related technologies such as: Perl, Python, Email Severs, and DNS
? Knowledge with Linux operating system
? Knowledge of PHP and MySQL
? Knowledge of developing for cross platform web browsers.
? Experience in working with web servers such as: Apache, or Tomcat
? Knowledge of Eclipse IDE and CVS version management.

Must be local to RTP area or willing to relocate, no telecommuters.
