Graphics Tech Manager

Graphics is an exciting and fast moving technology crucial to Apple?s core businesses. The Graphics driver team is responsible for shipping the Mac OS device drivers for Apple?s computer products. We work with the OpenGL team, graphics vendors, internal graphics developers, and project teams to produce high performance, high quality drivers for Mac OSX.

We are looking for a leader who is passionate about products. This person will be responsible for coordinating development of the software components of graphics device drivers. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and flexible, with a strong debugging skills, demonstrated ability to solve technical problems individually and within a team, have knowledge of graphics HW and SW architecture and a history of success delivering products.

Responsibilities include:
? Hardware/Software bring-up support
? Project coordination with the extended team and graphics vendors
? Debugging of complex cross-functional issues
? Collaborate on feature definition and tracking
? Status reporting
? Risk assessment
? Tactical decision-making on feature implementations and bug fixes



BS/MS degree plus 6+ years of experience in graphics required
Proven experience as a project or engineering manager driving issues between cross-functional teams
Experience working with vendors
Strong problem solving and debugging skills
Must have created and owned engineering schedules
The ideal candidate will have both hardware and software background
Excellent written and spoken communication skills
Strong experience in at least one of: 3D graphics (particularly OpenGL), 2D driver, Graphics firmware
Assembly experience is a plus
Mac expertise desired, Unix experience a plus
