Great opportunity for a C++ programmer with one to three years experience.  Small team environment that works closely with other teams on projects that are critical to our success.  If you have strong skills in C++ and like developing in a Linux environment, this position is for you.

 

We are a hybrid software, research/development and financial services firm, and highly skilled team members are our lifeblood. We trade stock electronically, and with automated systems ATD accounted for approximately 6% of daily trades on the NASDAQ and 4% of daily trades on the NYSE in 2005.

Essential Functions:

 Works with traders and other developers to determine accepted model behavior, documents expected model behavior, and develops methods and tools to monitor trading systems and ensure models operate within accepted boundaries.Using C++ and other languages to develop tools to monitor and control risk real-time in ATD?s technical systems.Works closely with the senior technical risk manager.

 

 

Expected short-term results (specific tasks to be accomplished): 

 

? Become familiar with existing monitoring tools and extends tools to cover more aspects of trading systems.

? Learn about ATD technical systems, trading terminology, and trading strategies

? Develop relationships with traders and other developers.

? Extend testing environment to include adding methodologies to test failure conditions and automate testing new features (using C++ and other languages).

 

 

Expected long term results:

 

? Develop profiles for showing risks associated with various trading strategies.

? Work with traders, other developers to determine accepted model behavior documents expected model behavior, and develops methods and tools to monitor trading systems and ensure models operate within accepted boundaries

? Expand knowledge of trading rules and regulations.

? Examine regulatory risks and develops tools to enforce same.

 

 

The following skills are REQUIRED:

 Solid background in OO programming language (C++ )Unix/Linux

 

 

The following skills are highly desirable:

 Familiarity with scripting language (Perl, Python, Ruby)Experience in QA testingACEFamiliar with basic SQLWill teach about trading; market knowledge a plus

 

 

 

Educational background:

 

College degree in Computer Science or related field preferred; would consider highly skilled candidate without a degree or with unrelated degree.

 

New graduate or up to three years ?real world? experience (jobs, internships, open source involvement, etc.)
