HELP DESK/PC TECHNICIAN

 IT Help Desk Job Description

The Help Desk / PC Technician position will work directly with end-users to answer questions and resolve technical issues as well as "behind-the-scenes" upgrading/troubleshooting server issues. This person will work with and report directly to the IT Administrator.

The PC Technician will be responsible for helping maintain all workstations, laptops, printers, thin clients, and handheld devices for all 4 of our nation-wide offices. This person will help maintain the SAN and be responsible for the nightly tape and disk backups. This person must be able to troubleshoot technical issues, research effective short and long-term solutions and communicate effectively with the IT Administrator and Management, in conjunction with company policies.

Technical proficiency requirements:Maintenance and repair of all workstations, laptops, thin clients, printers, handheld devices, and other technical equipmentInstall new hardware and/or softwareLearn, maintain, and troubleshoot video conferencing and phone-related equipmentLearn, maintain, and troubleshoot VPN clients and equipmentPhysical security for all IT equipment in officeAssigning Active Directory permissions for users and filesMaintain and troubleshoot server-related issuesTroubleshoot and resolve network and internet related problems

 

The ideal candidate should be proficient in:Microsoft Windows Operating Systems & Server Technologies TCP/IP Networking including Routers and Switches VPN Technology and security PC, Laptop, Server, Handheld, Printer and Networking hardwareMicrosoft Office and Project Citrix Metaframe Server & Clients
