IT Architect/Engineer

Position Description: This position will lead the enterprise architecture, design, strategy, and engineering of the following within the SAP Infrastructure Environment:

SAP NetWeaver Infrastructure

WAS (SAP Web Application Server) Architecture

BW Infrastructure Architecture

IGS (SAP Internet Graphic Server) and ITS (Internet Transaction Server)

SAP Portal Integration within SAP Infrastructure

SAP Solution Manager architecture

SAP Security Authorization Design and Standards

SAP Workload Characterization and Capacity Planning related to NetWeaver components

Additional Responsibilities include:

Promote the SAP infrastructure standards so that they align with the overall enterprise architecture goals.

Serve as the SAP Technology Architect in the project teams and act as the SAP technical subject matter expert.

Working with other IT groups, develop and maintain an SAP Infrastructure Roadmap that provides reduced overall complexity and increased cost efficiency.

Provide project support for enterprise projects that cross multiple technologies and platforms.

Develop and maintain the SAP infrastructure strategies that result in efficient and effective use of the SAP based infrastructure information technology products and services.

Document the SAP Infrastructure Architecture environment and procedures.

Insure the SAP infrastructure remains cost effective, efficient, resilient, and of high quality.

Maintain expertise in the area of SAP architecture, including industry trends, strategies, and products to ensure corporate assets are optimized.

Provide technical SAP expertise in the selection of new hardware and software platforms, which assist in attaining the enterprise architecture goals.

Assist in root cause analysis and provide on-call / off-hours support as required.
