IT Manager - Software Engineering

First Choice Health is recruting for a IT Manager in our Software Engineering Department. You will provide technical leadership and management expertise for new application development and on-going support efforts for all business unit and administrative departments systems including but not limited to: PPO, TPA, sales and marketing, corporate administration and finance.  Coordinate development efforts with other I.T. teams as well as internal and external business owners to achieve desired outcomes.  Effectively manage software engineering resources and timelines to ensure the Engineering Operating Plan is successfully implemented. 

 EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

?Provide technical leadership to development projects and deliver high quality software for all business units.

?  Manage software engineering, business analyst, and systems administration resources and projects in relation to meeting the company?s business needs.

? Coordinate with VP of I.T. to develop, implement and maintain software development and project management standards, policies, and procedures.

? Develop and coordinate with VP of I.T. in maintaining budgets and schedules for projects.

? Develop and maintain an understanding of the business rules and needs supported by FCH systems.

? Maintain an understanding of current database programming tools and trends.

? Perform other work related duties as assigned. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

? B.S. in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare, or related field.

?Minimum of 5 years of I.T. or business experience in managing staff and other I.T. resources.

?  Minimum of 5 years experience in I.T. project management.

?    Minimum of 3 years experience in software acceptance testing and evaluation.

?    Minimum of 2 years experience in PPO and/or healthcare insurance business models.

?  Minimum of 5 years experience working with software development methodologies.

 DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

 

?  Knowledge of Structured Query Language and relational database technology, preferably with Oracle 9i or 10g.

?  Proficient in software application architecture and design.

?  Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Oracle Forms, PowerBuilder or PL/SQL.

?  Proficient with Microsoft productivity tool sets (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, and Visio)

? Ability to work in a structured, organized manner and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

? Proven ability to independently produce creative solutions to business problems.

?  Excellent analytical, organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.

? Excellent presentation skills for internal and external customer base.

? Demonstrated people management skills.
