IT Systems Engineer

DESCRIPTION OF FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical and problem solving skills, and will be able to utilize these skills in a dynamic environment. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be very detail oriented with strong organizational skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks, and works well under time constraints. This individual should be able to learn quickly, be a pro-active self-starter and has the ability to accomplish tasks under limited supervision. Functions include:
? Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure services across 3 geographically dispersed teams
? Email administration including greylisting, blacklisting and IP-filtering, supporting secured IMAP on both Internal and External networks
? Administration of groupware, DNS, chat services, file servers
? Performs any other related work as assigned such as LDAP and Unix Authentication
? Experience in software design, coding, debugging and integration of backend database management and service delivery infrastructure components of mobile content security service for mobile terminals.
? Assist in planning, scheduling, and assigning development projects.
? Analyze customer requirements, propose and design network changes to accommodate growth of mobile security network
? Identify areas of improvements and assist in refining standards and procedures.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

? Researches and improves methods of production and processes based on industry standards
? Through knowledge and experience with perl, perl-dbi, SQL, CGI,HTML.
? Production Experience with Cisco switches, Cisco routers, wireless access points, network physical layer, level 2 and level 3 switching, routing protocols.
? Production Experience configuring and troubleshooting iptables firewall rules, iptables port forwarding, iptables load balance rules
? Experience and thorough knowledge of PKI, SSL tunnels, and VPN technologies
? Experience, knowledge, and use of Data Center best practices in a production environment
? Knowledge and understanding of server virtualization technologies (VMware, xen, etc)
? Experience and thorough knowledge of IT infrastructure services such as DNS, DHCP, LDAP, SMB, NFS, amanda, syslog-ng, snort, IDS (ie samhain or tripwire), security scanners such as nmap or nessus, SNMP, NMS systems such as OpenView, e-mail MTA, IMAP.
? Experience with SQL database systems such as MySQL, Postgress, Oracle, including data modeling, data normalization, schema layout, performance tuning.
? Telco industry experience preferred
? Ability to make sound independent decisions.
? Ability to accurately estimate time required to complete software tasks and projects
? Must be able to travel internationally
? Experience with install, configuration, maintenance, and administration of Linux, Solaris and/or other POSIX style (UNIX) OS

QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION:

Bachelor?s in CS, Engineering, related field or equivalent work experience
CCNA, CCNP or CCIE preferred
