 Essential Functions, Duties and Responsibilities:  The Information Architect primarily is responsible for performing internal and market research/analysis to determine the most effective UI for internal customers that will simplify implementation of ecommerce sites.  The IA meets with internal client to assess needs and present ideas.  Must define and document proposed product navigation, diagrams, feature specifications and other relevant information.  Determines specific e-commerce functionality that will assist clients in merchandising / selling products / information on the web.  Works with graphic designers and programmers to ensure their user interface meets the specifications of the design document.  Works with Project Management and Development to ensure the proposed deliverable meets internal and external customer needs.

 

The Senior Information Architect reports directly to an assigned department head, planning and prioritizing working as a department team member and the organization as a whole.  The Senior Information Architect works independently on projects, initiating tasks with minimal supervision, supervises and mentors other Information Architects, interacts and communicates with clients, and has the ability to drive innovation and improvement in the IA process.


Qualifications

 Education and Experience:

o  Bachelor degree3 - 4 years of information architecture for the Web in a senior roleMinimum 2 years experience in gathering and writing detailed functional specifications / business rules documentation.  Experience in determining specific e-commerce functionality that will assist clients in merchandising / selling products / information on the web. 

 Requisite Skills::

o  Demonstrable familiarity with e-commerce concepts and tools, including web hosting, application and data integration and related technologies.

o  Working knowledge of technologies such as Java/J2EE, web-based graphical user interfaces, and relational databases, to a level allowing documentation around these technologies for engineering teams and project managers. 

o  Experience with web content production, and content management systems.  Strong problem solving skillsStrong writing background with knowledge of e-commerce

o  Experience managing several document sets concurrently.

o  Team player with demonstrated leadership and communication skills.

o  Strong communication and presentation skills.
