Information Security Analyst - Auditing

MSD is an employee-owned company of over 600 professionals who support the diverse technical, scientific, and administrative needs of the Federal government. We are currently searching for an experienced Information Security Analyst - Auditing to support one of our clients. This opportunity is permanent, full-time, and on site in Washington, DC.

 

Position Overview:

 

Supports the development, implementation, and operation of an accountability and auditing system for a major Federal Government program. activities include the following support activities:


1) Development and implementation of an enterprise-wide integrated strong security architecture.


2) Ensure information assurance requirements, procedures, processes, techniques, and technologies are addressed and applied throughout the System Development Life Cycle, Systems Assurance process, IT architecture development process, Configuration Management, and IT operations processes and procedures.


3) Produce Product specific analysis and testing results documents.


4) Research, evaluate, acquire, implement, and integrate audit systems and tools to support audit log data collection, aggregation, reduction, synthesis, and reporting, as required.


5) Participate in the development and modification of automated systems and applications to ensure effective integration of auditing security features.


6) Understand the nature of organizational systems and applications to determine the level of protection needed and the level of risk that can be tolerated.


7) Support the implementation of auditing technology where applicable.


8) Act as a system administrator for servers and devices.


9) Develop and produce policies, procedures, and various logical and technical documentation in support of the accountability and auditing capability and its underlying systems.

 

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION/SKILLS: BS in Computer Science or Information Technology or related field and 6 years of substantial experience in system security analysis and implementing. Must have System Development Life Cycle experience integrating audit systems and tools to support audit log data collection and reporting. Experience with design assurance or testing for information assurance products and systems in an enterprise -wide integrated security architecture.


DESIRED SKILLS: MS in Computer Science or Information Technology-related fields. CISSP, GIAC, or other related security certifications.


Experience in computer networking technology a must. This position requires a US citizenship and the ability to obtain a secret security clearance.
