Position Description

Lionbridge is seeking temporary Instructional Designers to perform exam and course design and development work through October, 2006, with a possible extension based on project resource needs.

 

On exams projects, you will work with Subject Matter Experts to develop test items for Microsoft Certified Professional exams and assessments. You will review items written by SMEs to ensure that they map to the exam objectives and adhere to Microsoft exam development guidelines and work with the SME to resolve issues and finalize the items.

 

On course design and development projects, you will:Analyze training requirements and learner profile. Perform task and/or content analysis. Define learning objectives. Develop the course structure. Design instructional and assessment strategies. Write structured content material in a style that is audience-appropriate and adheres to the project style guide.Conceptualize and facilitate the production of multimedia assets, including static graphics, illustrations, animations, simulations, audio narrations, and video.

 

Some project work will be completed on site at the Microsoft Redmond campus and the remainder of the work can be completed from home. These projects require a flexible work schedule and you must be able to adjust your schedule to work with an India-based team and US-based SMEs. This will involve early morning and late night phone calls with India and aggressive content delivery deadlines that accommodate a "24 hour" development cycle.

 

Required Skills/Background2-5 years of Instructional Design experience required.Experience designing and developing online training. Strong writing skills with an eye for clarity and accuracy.Strong attention to detail.

 

Desired Skills/Background ? if anyExperience developing assessments or exams.Experience with software-based subject matter.Experience working with cross-cultural and/or India-based teams.

 

Education/Certification Required

Bachelor?s degree in instructional design or related field such as technical writing (with equivalent ID experience) required.
