Integration Engineer - Linux System Administration

 



The successful candidate will have exp with systems integration, configuration, performance management and validation of High-Performance Linux Clusters within a Production environment.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

?  Responsible for integration and configuration management of High-Performance Clusters within project timelines and budget allocations.

?  Administration and management of High-Performance Linux Clustering environments encompassing all aspects of system, software and hardware validation.

?  Provide technical consultation to Sales Teams, Field Sales Engineers, Partners, Corporate Engineering, Product Marketing groups, and Customers.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

 

The individual must be able to work independently and within a team. The individual must have the ability to function within a a highly dynamic, results-driven and high-pressure environment in order to achieve required objectives. Details of qualifications are listed below.

 

?  Advanced Linux System Administration and Configuration Management skills.

?  Intermediate High-Level Programming language skills required. (Bash, Perl, Tcsh, Tcl/Tk, Python, etc.)

?  Basic comprehension of the C/C++ Programming language.

?  Intermediate Networking skills required. (Layer 2 & 3 switches, TCP/IP, IGMP, routing, VLAN, hardware, etc.)

?  Advanced troubleshooting skills required.

?  Compiling and troubleshooting of bleeding-edge software and hardware is preferred.

?  Knowledge and experience with SAN & NAS hardware is preferred.

?  Knowledge and experience in Linux High-Performance Computing is preferred.

?  Knowledge of UNIX batch schedulers is preferred.

?  Knowledge of high speed Interconnects is preferred. (Myrinet, InfiniBand, Quadrics)

?  Knowledge and experience with MPI is a preferred.

?  Knowledge of Intel, PathScale and PGI Development environments is preferred.

?  Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, including customers and with all vendors and partners.

?  Ability to interact, develop, engineer and communicate at the highest technical levels of organizational decision-making.

?  Well organized, attentive to details and able to meet demanding deadlines.

?  U.S. Citizenship required.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

 

? BS in Computer Science, Engineering or related specialization, completion of specialized courses of study, or commensurate industry equivalent experience.

? Previous similar or related professional experience, preferably in parallel systems and/or High-Performance Computing environments, Linux, Clustering, System Administration and related technologies.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

 

? A mixture of sedentary work and some physical work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 50 lbs of force occasionally.

 

Requires up to 25 - 35% travel.

 

Preference given to local candidates or those candidates willing to relocate at their own expense.
